The MISIC team has developed three new book studies for you to use to dig into and implement the Science of Reading in your classroom and district. These book studies can be used in PLCs, grade level teams or building teams. If you choose to use one of the book studies in your district, the teachers can earn license renewal credit as well. The three new book studies are listed below and as a MISIC Member, you can view and access them and more on the Science of Reading page of the MISIC Website.
- Shifting the Balance – Bringing the Science of Reading into the Primary Classroom (K-2)
- Shifting the Balance – Bringing the Science of Reading into the Upper Elementary Classroom (3-5)
- Shifting the Balance – Paired Book Study for K-2 & 3-5
The new book studies and much more are also posted on the Book Studies and New Resources (click on the Science of Reading) pages of the website.

- After you register you will receive an email letting you know that your registration is PENDING. DO NOT attempt to login until you receive the second email.
- Once a MISIC team member verifies that you are a member you will receive another email letting you know you are APPROVED.
- After you login, you can point to your Username in the top right corner of the site and click on “Edit My Profile” to change your password or edit other profile information.
