We are pleased to invite you to the ISASP Writing Rangefinding meeting on January 18-20, 2022. We appreciate your commitment to our shared work!
ISASP Writing Rangefinding: The process of rangefinding is to review constructed response assessment items and discuss a set of responses that demonstrates a range of performance. The learning team will arrive at consensus scores according to the standards and scoring criteria established by each item’s rubric. The rangefinding responses will then be used to create training sets that will allow Pearson to train scorers to accurately and consistently apply the scoring criteria for each ISASP item.
MEETING INFORMATION
The rangefinding will be done virtually. We will send instructions, prior to the rangefinding meeting, with details on accessing the system. Within those instructions will be a meeting time for January 17th. This meeting will help to ensure you are able to access the system and troubleshoot any issues. The ISASP Writing Rangefinding meeting will be held virtually, Tuesday, January 18 – Thursday, January 20, 2022. The compensation rate is $130 per day and professional development credit is available through MISIC.
The ISASP Writing Rangefinding meeting will begin promptly at 8:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 18, 2022.
What: ISASP Reading & Science Rangefinding
When: June 13-14, 2022
How: Online Delivery, 16 hours over 2 days, beginning at 8:00 a.m.

Participants will know, understand, and/or be able to:
- identify the relationships among the Iowa curriculum standards, assessment items, and corresponding scoring criteria
- select responses that represent rubric criteria
- collaborate in the development of training sets for scorers
Earn one licensure renewal credit for participation in each/either workshop; MISIC fee $35.
