DESCRIPTION:NEW for 2018-19!!!  Administrator and Teacher Licensure Renewal Credit is available for attending a combination of meetings\, conferences and workshops. \nRegister by Friday\, October 12 to avoid the late registration fee. \nLate Registration: $20 added to the registration fee for registrations made within 2 weeks of the event. \n  \nMaking the Fine Arts Standards Come Alive in Your Visual Arts Classroom!\nIt has been almost a full year since Iowa adopted Fine Arts Standards\, so what do I do now? I don’t have time to add anything else to my plate. HELP!  Well\, you’re in luck. \nMake plans to attend this engaging one-day workshop sponsored by MISIC.  You will take a brief overview of the standards and how they are structured\, as well as see how you are already “doing” these standards. You will have time to collaborate with your peers\, look how what you are already doing matches the standards\, as well as have access to a new online user-friendly lesson plan template to help you document the implementation of the standards. \nWho: All K-12 Visual Arts Teachers\, Instructional Coaches\, Administrators\, etc.  \nWhen: Friday\, October 26 – 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. \nLocation: City Church – 2400 Oakwood Rd – Ames\, IA \nFacilitator: Ronda Sternhagen\, Visual Arts Teacher in Grundy Center & Visual Arts Consultant for Central Rivers AEA. \nCost (lunch included): MISIC Members: $100/person. She has taught at all grade levels throughout her career\, and currently teaches visual arts to grades 5-12\, as well as a college level art appreciation class. Recently\, she was co-facilitator of the Fine Arts Standards adoption process in Iowa\, and she is a member of the Fine Arts Leadership Team for the Iowa Department of Education. She has received numerous accolades including Secondary Art Educator of the Year and Art Educator of the Year from Art Educators of Iowa\, as well as being named Western Region Art Educator of the Year by the National Art Education Association. On a personal note\, Ronda is a widow and proud mom to sons Andrew\, age 23\, and Matthew\, a Senior at Grundy Center this year. \n***Late Registration: $20 added to the registration fee for registrations made within 2 weeks of the event. \n***Cancellation Policy: If received at least one week before the event\, 100% of the registration will be refunded.
