Making the Fine Arts Standards Come Alive for Your Music Students!

It has been almost a full year since Iowa adopted Fine Arts Standards, and this workshop is planned to help make these standards come alive with your music students.

You will take a brief overview of the standards and how they are structured, as well as see how you are already “doing” these standards. You will have time to collaborate with your grade-level peers, compare these standards with your current teaching, and look how what you are already doing matches the standards. You will be looking at various instructional strategies, as well as assessment processes for the standards.

You will also experience and share resources that help students work in the Creating and Responding processes. Think about some of the resources you’ve already developed and bring those ideas with you!
