MISIC is offering a workshop on the New Iowa Social Studies Standards – Part 2 on Friday, April 13 at the FFA Enrichment Center in Ankeny from 8:30am-3:00pm. We will continue to dig into the new Social Studies Standards that were adopted by the state last year. Even if you were unable to join us for the first workshop last fall, you can still come and learn more about how to implement these new standards.
New Iowa Social Studies Standards – Part 2
In this one-day workshop, participants will focus on the instructional shifts that are foundational to implementing the new Iowa Social Studies Standards. A variety of tools and resources will be shared that focus on:
- Finding the Right Text
- Asking the Right Questions and
- Dealing with Vocabulary

MISIC members: $100/person
Non-MISIC members: $195/person
Register four people from your district and the 5th person is free!
***Note: Non-Member registration costs of $95 will be credited to districts that join MISIC within the fiscal year 2017-2018.
